Democratization of the Capital Industry - Securities Crowdfunding
Limited Capacity seats available
In order to RSVP for this session you must first register for your: #FCSW15 GENERAL ADMISSION ALL ACCESS REGISTRATION.
Over time, the capital industry has evolved to impose major constraints on participation by the average person.  Government rules and regulations have been adopted that favor participation by accredited investors and millionaires and the top 3% of income earners, but what about the crowd?  More than 93% of accredited investors don't even participate currently in angel investing as an asset allocation.  What role does recent legislation play in unlocking the power of that demographic and the unaccredited and what are the potential opportunities and unintended consequences of crowdfunding for equity?

Ever Wanted to be an Angel Investor?

As a part of the Fort Collins Startup Week, Rockies Venture Club (RVC) is condensing this 2 and a half hour workshop into one dynamic hour filled with valuable content for those that are looking to make smart investment decisions in startup companies. This hour will be lead by Peter Adams, MBA, Execution Director RVC.

Angel Investors are popping up all over the place and getting involved in Colorado's thriving startup economy.  Angels are making great returns on their investments while also making connections, learning about cutting edge technologies, and giving back to the community by sharing expertise.

Angel investors who are part of an angel group don't technically need to know anything about the process since they can rely on the expertise of other "lead" investors.   Smart angels will take the time to learn about the process and how to evaluate a deal, even if it's with the help of others.  RVC Angels decide for themselves which deals they want to participate in and having the tools and perspective to make smart decisions is always a good idea!

This workshop is open to anyone interested in Angel Investing regardless of whether you are currently an accredited investor or not.  Entrepreneurs and non-members are welcome to register.  Graduates of this workshop who are accredited investors are eligible to attend RVCs monthly Angel Groups in Denver, Boulder, Colorado Springs, and Fort Collins.

Smart Angel Investing in Northern Colorado
Limited Capacity seats available
In order to RSVP for this session you must first register for your #FCSW15 GENERAL ADMISSION ALL ACCESS REGISTRATION.

Have you ever wondered what it takes to make smart investments in startups, an inherently risky asset class. The answer to this question is complicated. First of all, finding companies that are worth investing in takes a lot of work. The national average for companies that get VC or angel funding in incredibly low. Angel groups help source these deals and bring the companies to a central location. Secondly, making sure that a company is worth investing in takes a lot of time. In fact it has been shown that the probability of getting a positive return on an investment is maximized when close to 40 hours our due diligence are preformed on a company. That is a lot time for one person to preform on one company! This is where angel groups step in. A large group of investors can share in this process and together they can make smarter investments that are much more likely to succeed.

This workshop will be lead by Peter Adams the Executive Director of Rockies Venture Club and he will talk to: the many opportunities to collaborate with like-minded individuals in Northern Colorado, where to find high quality
